Tahquamenon Falls

In the Upper Peninsula, we went to Tahquamenon Falls.  The closest city to the falls is Paradise, MI.  You can visit it yourself and judge whether it is your paradise.  The falls are beautiful.   They are the second largest vertical waterfall east of the Mississippi, after Niagara Falls and Michigan’s second largest state park.  What I found interesting is that the effect the minerals in the water (actually tannic acid from the trees) had on the infrared.
In color, they are brownish (but apparently when frozen in the winter are a beautiful green/blue)

Here’s the a similar photo to the above in infrared.  What usually happens to water is it turns black.  Here it turns blue!  It’s the minerals in the water.
