Day One – Can’t forget about the Sunset – Lake Mead Rec. Area
I told you that the next post was going to be Death Valley, but I lied. Yep. I have sunset photos from the Lake Mead Recreation Area that is a mini drive out of Las Vegas. It is a very large area, don’t get me wrong – there are pockets of it all around. But where I went was a little boat launch area just past the entrance to Lake Las Vegas. You actually pass it when you come back from the Valley of Fire.
We lost a lot of our cloud cover and so the sunset wasn’t one of those awe-inspiring, angels singing in the background kind of sunsets but, all the same, it was pretty. Any time there are mountains and colors I think it is pretty. Although take into consideration that at the moment as I look out the window I see gray, gray, snow, dormant trees, ice, dirty snow piles and the occasional mud puddle with a skim of ice on it. And it is going to be 13* tonight. That’s Fahrenheit folks. BUT – hopefully spring is around the corner. Fingers crossed.
Anyway – back to the photos. Just three.
Lovely sunset!
